Longmont Startup Week 2017 Dates Announced
February 8, 2017 -
Since 2015, Longmont’s startup community has hosted Longmont Startup Week (LSW) as a way to showcase Longmont’s growing startup community, help make connections, and accelerate growth for our entrepreneurs. This year, the Longmont Economic Development Partnership (EDP) has stepped up as the lead organization in planning Longmont Startup Week, along with the Advance Longmont Partner organizations and community volunteers. The Longmont EDP is excited to announce that the dates for LSW17 will be Monday, July 24th through Friday, July 28th, 2017. The LSW planning committee has already been hard at work, lining up content and speakers for events and realigning the LSW brand with globally recognized Startup Week™, a program of Techstars.
LSW17 will bring together entrepreneurs, wanna-preneurs, intrapreneurs, creatives, techies, inventors, business owners, and investors of all ages to connect and inspire. It’s this support network that can make the difference between closing up shop and pushing through to success. LSW showcases why Longmont and the northern Colorado region is the best place to start a business and builds momentum in advancing Longmont’s startup community. Over the course of five days, multiple startup community events, panels, fireside chats, and keynote speaker presentations will be hosted by the community for the community at unique venues throughout Longmont, showcasing Longmont and Northern Colorado’s entrepreneurs in advanced technology, I.T., bioscience, creative arts, culinary, and more. Events will include topics such as design, development, marketing, finance, legal, and entrepreneur basics. All events are FREE to attend and provide outstanding learning and networking opportunities.
“The idea is to bring entrepreneurs together to create meaningful connections, expose local entrepreneurs to resources, ideas, lessons learned and best practices, showcase Longmont as a premier location for startups, raise our regional profile as an innovation hub and foster collaboration amongst the entrepreneurial communities along the front range, “ says Jessica Erickson, President of the Longmont EDP.
The Longmont EDP is currently seeking sponsorships and volunteers for LSW17. Sponsors will gain brand exposure to a regional audience while supporting their local startup community. Sponsorship packages come in a variety of levels, and custom packages are available. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available, such as hosting an Open Coffee or Happy Hour event, or providing an in-kind sponsorship for items such as food, beverage, venue, services, etc. Another great way to get involved is by volunteering. Volunteers may sign up to assist with planning and organizing of LSW17, participate as a panelist or speaker at an event, or to assist with day-of logistics and event execution. Volunteers are the spirit of LSW and without them, the week’s events would not be a success.
